Mind-Set Technologies (MSTs) is a two-step process that can easily be learned and effectively applied. The first step in Mind-Set Technologies is known as the Mind-Set Evaluation (MSE), which is designed to help you honestly examine your current habits (good or bad) and your current ways of thinking and living (thus, your current mind-sets), and evaluate whether or not those habits and mind-sets are conducive to achieving your primary goals of success.

The second step in Mind-Set Technologies is known as the Mind-Set Adjustment (MSA), which entails developing constructive habits to replace your destructive ones and establishing more effective thought patterns for a happier, more fulfilling way of living.

According to one dictionary I read years ago, the definition of technology is “the study, development, and application of devices, machines, and techniques for manufacturing and productive processes” or “a method or methodology that applies technical knowledge or tools.”

From this definition of technology, some of the key words that you can use to apply these exercises to Mind-Set Technologies are study, develop, and apply. Study, develop, and apply methods and techniques to accomplish something of worth. Let’s take a closer look at each of these three key words and concepts.


Study. There is a great need to scrutinize and evaluate your current mind-sets and compare them to your primary goals. Conduct an MSE of where you are. Focus on the mind-sets that are in harmony with your primary goals so you can move forward toward success.

Develop. Exercise and train your mind to adjust to more positive things and ideals and discard the negative. Practice and develop good MSE and MSA skills to get yourself on the road to true success.

Apply. Apply the tools to develop a positive mental attitude and adjust your mind-sets to help you stay on the path that leads to true success.


The MSE process needs to be an honest and deliberate way to evaluate your current habits and mind-sets. It is a process to verify whether or not your current habits and mind-sets are aligned with where you want to end up in life. Many times your habits and mind-sets are not aligned with your primary goals. Therefore, you need to make important critical MSAs to get yourself on the right pathway.

What Is a Mind-Set?

So, what is a mind-set and what does it have to do with success? According to another dictionary, a mind-set is the following:

A set of assumptions, methods or notations held by one or more people or groups of people, which is so established that it creates a powerful incentive within these people or groups to continue to adopt or accept prior behaviors, choices or tools. This phenomenon of cognitive bias is also sometimes described as mental inertia, group think, or a paradigm, and it is often difficult to counteract its effects upon analysis and decision making process.

According to this definition, in general terms, a mind-set is more than just a train of thought. Rather, it is an effective sustained manner of thinking, acting, and living that will likely lead to results, either positive or negative. MSAs give you an additional mental thrust that is difficult to thwart or turn back as decisions are made, habits are formed, and life courses are set. MSAs are course-setting adjustments that not only get you on the right path but also keep you there.
